Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer additional wedding coverage (ex: engagement pictures, rehearsal dinner, proposal pictures, day after pictures)?
Yes I do! These sessions would be $300/hour with 20-30 edited images on a USB drive with full printing rights.

Do you provide a wedding day timeline?
Yes. I will email you a wedding day timeline with lots of helpful and detailed questions to help organize your day.

How long until we can see the images?
A sneak peek will be available 1 - 2 days after the shoot. General sessions will be finished and mailed to you within 3 weeks and weddings will be finished within 6 weeks.

How many images can we expect to get?
20-30 edited images for 1 hour sessions. Weddings will usually yield about 250-400 images depending on hourly coverage and travel time in between locations.

How can I prepare for my shoot?
We will have a pre-shoot chat sesh where I will let you know what to expect at your shoot. You can let me know any questions or concerns you may have and I will suggest some tips/tricks to help everything run smoothly. Also, check out my Pinterest board for some outfit inspiration here. Some things to focus on when deciding what to wear: Start with a favorite outfit and coordinate the rest of the outfits from there. Pops of color are everything! Layers and accessories help make your look complete and add interest to the picture. Try to pick out 2-3 main colors to work with. White tends to wash people out and is best if not used or only used as an accent color. Coordinate with each other...DON'T match each other! Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing...if you are uncomfortable, it will definitely show in the picture. Think of the shooting location: if we are shooting in a park with tons of grass and trees, I wouldn't pick green outfits, etc.

When should I book a newborn session?
Contact me sometime in your second trimester. Newborn sessions are done within the first 10 days of birth. The sooner the better so that the little one is extra sleepy. Try not to stress! I get a lot of worried parents asking "what if my baby doesn't sleep?" or "what should we do about my baby's dry skin?" (Also, 100% of the time, your baby will scratch themselves in their sleep the night before the shoot. NO WORRIES.) I individually edit each image and a lot of newborn editing is focused on smoothing out their skin. If your baby doesn't want to sleep, we will get some cute, wrapped up awake pictures showcasing those baby blues! That's the beauty of lifestyle/simply posed newborn shoots...you go with the flow and capture your little one just the way they are (:

When should I book a maternity session?
These are generally best if we do them around the 30 week mark. We just want to make sure there is a definite bump that we can show off without getting too close to that due date! Every woman's body is different so this time frame can definitely vary.

When should I book a senior session?
April - August of their Junior year is the best time to do these so we can get outside and have some fun!

When should I book a holiday session?
The last day for these sessions is the day before Thanksgiving. I need to make sure I have enough time to edit your images and mail them to you. You also need to have enough time to order your holiday cards, have them mailed to you, and then mail them out to family and friends!

What happens after the shoot?
A lot of people think that my job is a 1 hour photo shoot and I am done. Besides the pre-shoot consultations and chats we will have to make sure that everything goes smoothly, the travel to and from the shoot, and then the shoot itself...the work has just gotten started when that shoot ends, folks! I go home and upload all of your images as well as back them up on an external hard drive. I then go through the hundreds of images and make a folder of my favorites that I will edit. Generally speaking, it takes me 6-8 hours to edit a 1 hour shoot. Within 1-2 days after your shoot, I will post a sneak peek on Facebook (with your approval). When I am done with all of the editing, I package up the USB and head out to the post office to mail your images!

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask (:
